Please read these Terms of Use (“Terms”) carefully before using the carteNatale iOS application (“the App”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
These Terms form a binding agreement between you (“you”, “the user”) and the independent developer of carteNatale (“we”, “us”, “our”). Your use of the App is also subject to Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). Where these Terms and Apple’s EULA conflict, the stricter provision applies.
carteNatale calculates astrological natal charts and compatibility analyses using on-device astronomical computations (Swiss Ephemeris) and generates interpretive text using an AI model (Anthropic Claude) via our backend server. The App offers: - A free preview including the full chart wheel, planetary positions, and aspects. - Paid, one-time in-app purchases that unlock AI-generated interpretation text.
The App is provided for entertainment, educational, and self-reflection purposes only. Astrology is not a science. The chart calculations are astronomically accurate, but interpretations are not statements of fact and must not be relied upon as professional advice.
The App does not provide and is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, legal, financial, or any other professional advice. Do not make important life decisions based solely on content generated by the App. If you need professional help, consult a qualified professional.
Interpretation text is produced by a generative AI model. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent, and may vary between generations for the same input. We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or fitness for any purpose of AI-generated content. You are responsible for how you interpret and use this content.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes, in accordance with these Terms and Apple’s EULA. You may not: - Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except where permitted by applicable law. - Use the App’s backend API outside the App, or attempt to access it programmatically. - Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security or purchase-validation features. - Use automated systems to send excessive requests, or otherwise abuse the service. - Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the App or its generated content.
You are responsible for the birth information you enter. You represent that, for any second person whose birth data you enter (for compatibility analysis), you have a lawful basis to process that information. Our handling of data is described in our Privacy Policy.
The App, its design, code, original text, and branding are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. AI-generated interpretation text produced for your chart is provided to you for your personal use; you may share it for non-commercial purposes with attribution to the App. Swiss Ephemeris is used under its applicable license. Astrological symbols and concepts are in the public domain.
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP OR THE RELEVANT IN-APP PURCHASE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the backend service if you violate these Terms or abuse the service. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (disclaimers, limitations of liability, intellectual property) will survive.
We may modify these Terms from time to time. The “Last Updated” date will reflect changes. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notice or App Store release notes. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of your country of residence, including, for users in the European Union, rights under applicable EU consumer-protection directives. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of France, unless mandatory local law provides otherwise.
